Join with colleagues from across the globe, and learn from the leading experts in the challenging field of deformity correction and limb reconstruction. The conditions addressed by these methods can be considered some of the most complex pathology an orthopaedic surgeon will ever face. The most severe pathology is often unique to the developing world, including neglected fractures, congenital anomalies, and limb-threatening infections. You will have ample opportunity to exchange ideas with your peers regarding the more difficult problems faced
by you and your patients. This will take place in a dynamic environment, to foster synergism between the participants. The Congress has been designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas, with the goal to stimulate new research initiatives and advance the industry through clinical collaboration.
The 9th ASAMI-BR Congress will cover the full breadth of topics related to contemporary limb reconstruction and deformity correction. This will include both internal and external fixation methods, for both the upper and lower extremities. The subjects will range from basic science research to clinical outcome studies, on a wide range of subjects relevant to these disciplines. Our aim here will
be to raise the bar, and set the highest standards for the quality of our clinical work. The latest and most sophisticated advances in the field will be featured, including 3D modelling of deformity and osteotomy jigs, and osseointegrated reconstruction of amputated limbs.

The ASAMI-BR Congress will take place in beautiful sub- tropical Queensland, and will coincide with the Brisbane Festival that occurs throughout September. The Convention Centre is located in the cultural precinct on Southbank,
and local hotels in the Central Business District are ideally positioned to maximize the benefits of your time spent here. Many shops and restaurants are situated nearby, together with long, flat, bike lanes and jogging paths. Participants are encouraged to take this opportunity to visit the many fabulous tourist attractions locally, within Queensland, and across Australia. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Moreton Island, and the Botanical Gardens are at the top of the list locally. The Glasshouse Mountains, The Gold Coast, The Sunshine Coast, and The Scenic Rim are all only a short drive from Brisbane. World-class beaches, theme parks, the Great Barrier Reef, whale watching cruises, hinterland bushwalks, and more are all accessible immediately before or after the Congress. For many of you, this will provide the perfect incentive to visit this fascinating, incredible, sun-drenched country.
I look forward to welcoming you to what I am optimistic will be a most memorable event, providing you with what I hope will be an experience that you find both professionally and personally rewarding on many levels.
